What is the function of your weight? Does it protect you, does it comfort you? All weight gain is for a reason (and no, it is not because you have a low metabolism). Your subconscious mind has set weight for you because being this weight offers something to you whether it is avoidance of men and therefore, perhaps, avoidance of being open to heartache. Perhaps you developed early and had a body of a 25 year old with a 12 year old’s psyche. Did older men take a bit too much notice of you? If you felt scared or were interfered with in some way, your subconscious mind decided that large breasts = being hurt (emotionally and/or physically) by men and how do I cover them – by overeating so your weight becomes a defence and also your breasts are in proportion to the rest of you. (Please bear in mind this is just an example.) So your subconscious mind wants to protect you and will keep you going back to your “protected” weight unless we reprogramme what is going on inside your mind. With the above example, the information about your body was taken as a 12 year old girl, now you are probably in your 20s or older and now have a more mature view of life so we need to tell the subconscious mind why this time with battle to lose weight can work this time and we set about adjusting the subconscious mind’s idea of your ideal weight. At the same time you are releasing your fears and thinking about your thin self’s place in the world. You know what happens every time you try to lose weight, you sabotage yourself for 2 reasons: (1) your subconscious mind has heard it all before and (2) your feelings about yourself and your place in the world must be addressed. Hypnosis is the key to your subconscious mind as we are changing your state (going from alert, to an internal focus). You are fully aware at all times. When in this state, the subconscious mind is amenable to your reasons for why losing weight and keeping it off is important to you. When you are at peace within yourself, food stops being a comfort - you know it can’t hug you. So create the body you want to achieve and understand your reasons for having excess weight so that you can develop confidence and self reliance without the need to turn to food.
