Solution Focused Therapy

All therapy with me is solution focused. This means that while we look back at past events the primary focus is on where you are now and where you want to be. Then we work towards your goal. The aim of hypno-analysis is to find the cause of the problem and then work at re-programming your “hardware” (brain) into how you want to act, think, behave etc. Suggestion therapy focuses in 1 to 3 sessions of overcoming a problem, for example, smoking. The majority of people I see started smoking at 12/13. The “positive” intent was to belong and be part of your peer group. Belonging and being part of a group is a primary instinct in early adolescence. Now if you are in your 20s/30s etc that reason for smoking is no longer valid. So how smoking cessation works is that we re-programme your new needs and wants (better skin, better sense of taste and smell etc). As with any change, it will be difficult but hypnosis makes it easier. Let’s take smoking for example, if you decide to stop what do you focus on - the cravings, how hard it will be, the weight gain. What you focus on you make happen, so is stopping smoking going to be pleasurable in this case - I think not!

It is always important to have a plan or goal to replace whatever you are trying to change. If you worry constantly, what will you think about as the worrying lessens. Remember the habit/problem has probably been with you for years, it is part of your life.

Change is good. You have to see, feel and believe you can achieve what you want.

Remember, believe it, achieve it.
