Motivation and Hypnosis

Motivation is wanting to make a change for yourself and not for anyone else. It is about feeling the “inner strength” needed to say no to chocolate or after a long day’s work, the ability to go to the gym or for a run rather than slouch down in front of the t.v. No amount of “shoulds” or “ought to” will motivate you. To keep motivation going, it needs to be supported. You can do this by visualisation exercises (this is where hypnosis comes in) and seeing yourself as you want to be. You must also understand that the change will not occur overnight! And that it takes work on your part. You must also be whole-hearted in your effort. “I’ll try it” is not good enough. The word “try” allows failure as an option. No champion sportsman says “I’ll try”. Indeed not, they use visualisation techniques to see themselves in glory and each step it takes to achieve their glory. And finally for today, you must believe it is possible for you to change.
