What is the first thing that comes to mind when contemplating giving up smoking? The irritability, how will you cope, what will you do with your hands and you may have other thoughts? All of these are fears – apprehensions about what might happen. Of course, if this is what you believe and indeed, this may have been your experience with stopping smoking and these frustrations become the reality. Why is that? The simplest explanation is that it happens because you thought it. By visualising the hardship and difficulty stopping cigarette smoking, you set in train the course of irritability and inability to cope with stressful situations. But what if there was another way? With hypnosis you are learning a technique that allows you to feel more calm and relaxed. In your session with me, we look at what you believe life will be like being smokefree – the fears and how you can make adjustments to feel great about your decision. The emphasis is that you can stop smoking as long as you want to stop smoking.
