Miscarriage

Dealing with the loss of a baby is never easy especially when there is nothing physical to bury. You need time to heal and to adjust. You need to grieve for what might have been and what is now gone.

With hypnosis and this is from personal experience, I learned to relax and become at peace with my loss (2 miscarriages) and overcome the feeling that I was somehow to blame for my losses. No-one can comfort you and people will make comments that you do not need or want to hear. Only you can ever know how you feel. I found hypnosis to be helpful in beating myself up less about my loss and to know my husband too had suffered loss. We had each other.

Then there was the struggle to become pregnant again, the stress of each month of the reminder that I was still not pregnant. Again learning to reduce the anxiety and being less focused on what wasn’t happening and focused on other things and most importantly returning to my more joyful self. Remembering a GP’s words of “stop watching yourself so much” – still smart within me.

With hypnosis and hypnotherapy I found it was about looking into the future and not being afraid of seeing what I wanted. I had to work through my feelings of a tendency not to complete things I started (so you see how well miscarriage compounded that issue for me!).  Sometimes we can be afraid to hope in an effort to protect ourselves.
