Positive Living

Living in a positive mindset can be extremely tiring. Why? Because we are just not used to it! We are so used to living negatively, to focus on the negative that the effort of thinking positively can wear you out. But the pay offs are worth it.

I saw Jack Black (mindstorm) recently. It was a 2 hour event in Dublin. Believe it or not, I don’t know everything and what I learned from him are things that I incorporate to my practice. That’s what it’s all about, I’m learning and expanding my skills set so that you can benefit from it. The two main things I took away from that night were:

Breathing exercises:

Anyone who has attended me will know that I love my breathing exercises as it is a quick fix for an nervous/anxious moments that you may have. Jack Black’s take was an extension of what I was already doing:

  • Take a deep breath in through your nose for the mental count of 8;
  • Hold for the mental count of 8;
  • Release for the mental count of 8 – make noise as you expel the air as it releases all the negative energies inside;
  • Breath normally for count of 4;
  • Repeat sequence 2 more times.

That will definitely get you relaxed. Remember to keep the words “Calm and Relaxed” in your mind as you do it so that you bringing the feelings of being calm and relaxed into your body.

Don’t allow any negative thoughts to enter your mind.

As you sit into your car, see the parking space you want, know that you are going to get it and guess what, 95% of the time it will be there with the remaining 5% being times you have to wait just a few minutes. We do this one with the kids and they really enjoy guessing which one of them has picked the right place!
Do it also if you take public transport, see the bus coming and know that you are going to get a seat. I work a couple of days in Dublin and use the buses and do this.
If you are trying to sell your house. See your new house and feel yourself living there. Now see the person buying your home and enjoying living there. We must send out positive signs so that the universe is benefiting from our good feelings.

Let me know how you get on.
