			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You feel the colour in your face changing and the heat building, your initial response is probably along the lines of &#8220;stop blushing&#8221; or &#8220;don&#8217;t blush now&#8221;.  The more you try to quenc the heat and colour of the blush - the stronger and more intense it becomes.  Your voice weakens, you may even lose it, your throat is dry, hands wet and clammy.  How can you stop it?</p>
<p>Hypnosis will and can help you but before I explain how it is important to understand how your subconscious mind operates.</p>
<p>The subconscious mind does not recognise negative words like &#8220;stop&#8221; or &#8220;not&#8221; or &#8220;don&#8217;t&#8221;.  So let&#8217;s take the above sentence you might say to yourself &#8220;stop blushing&#8221; - what the subconscious mind hears is &#8220;blushing&#8221;.  So it goes through it&#8217;s inner dictionary (just a computer, it has programmes and files within it - but more on this another day).</p>
<p>In the dictionary it finds &#8220;blushing = red face, throat dry, hands clammy, nervousness in stomach (and whatever else you feel&#8221;.  Hey presto, your subconscious mind gives you what you asked!</p>
<p>So you need to re-programme, delete and make a new file: &#8220;my face is pale and cool, my hands are dry &#8230;. the opposite of the previous symptoms.  It does take practice and like any new skill, the more you practice the better you get.  You can apply this to any situation that previously made you feel uncomfortable.</p>
<p>Have I done myself out of work?!</p>
<p>Hypnosis can help you practice these techniques.  No matter how logical we are about things, it doesn&#8217;t really seem to make much of a difference so we need to access the subconscious mind and this happens with hypnosis.</p>
<p>Hypnosis is a concentrated relaxation (we are concentrating on the face being cool and pale) - (did you notice my phrasing).  Using various aids including visualisation techniques you can overcome the blushing.</p>

<p>Hypnosis can help you cope with the anxiety and nervousness you feel so that you can be more relaxed when flying (or when packing, travelling to the airport etc) whichever is the most anxiety provoking section for you or perhaps the whole idea of flying terrifies you. </p>
<p>Hypnosis is a wonderful method of relaxation, where you use visualization and various stress busting techniques to help you in your quest to fly without fear.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When you have decided to stop smoking, look forward to the day of seeing your hypnotherapist to begin your new life free from cigarettes.  When you stop smoking, did you know that the nicotine has left your body in 48 hours?  So, for those of you who have tried to go cold turkey and let the irritability and cravings return you to the cigarettes, this is the proof that it is your mind that wants the cigarettes, the nicotine is gone after 48 hours so there is no physical need for a cigarette.  When you smoking a number of physical things can happen - your absorption rate of Vitamin C is decreased.  So in the first few days when you stop smoking, you need to increase your Vitamin C intake either by having a least 3 oranges or pinkgrapefruits a day (or take Rubex - an effervescent tablet that dissolves in water, it is the equivalent of 6 oranges).  Smoking increases the stress response in the body but you may feel smoking helped you to relax - take a Vitamin B complex which eases the nervous system.  Make an effort to be out to get some Vitamin D from the sun (I know, what sun - if you&#8217;re in Ireland).</p>
<p>And the best tonic of all - water - drink plenty of it for flush out all the toxins and rejuvenate the cells of the body.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you suffer from claustrophia, having an MRI will cause no end of anxiety.  Even for those who do not suffer from claustrophobia, an MRI can cause - a great deal of panic - in an enclosed cyclinder, having to stay still - what was the designer thinking!  You can of course opt of Valium or xanax to relieve the anxiety/panic symptoms or indeed pay more to go to the open MRI.  What if told you that hypnosis can help to go through the process of having an MRI and control your panic symptoms.  Hypnosis is a wonderful relaxation and whatever symptoms of panic you feel - heart racing, palms sweaty, lump in your throat, racing thoughts of panic.  hypnosis can help.</p>

For those not familiar or to remind you, Dorothy wants to go home, the lion wants be courageous, the tinman wants a heart and the scarecrow wants a brain.  So they are set a task, to bring the wicked witch&#8217;s broomstick to the Wizard and he will grant their wishes.  They succeed.  The Wizard (who is now revealed as  just a man) explains that they do already have what they desired within them, they just didn&#8217;t have the medal (bravery), testimonial (good deeds list) and diploma (braininess) ie the proof.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s my point?  Hypnosis is just like the Wizard - nothing is being done to you, it is setting tasks to highlight that you do indeed have the power within you to be as you want to be.  You have all you ever need inside you, in the power of your own mind.  Hypnosis can show you how to activate the dormat/forgotten abilities.</p>

In a session we are looking for the habitual patterns of smoking i.e. when you automatically reach for a cigarette and are smoking before you realise what&#8217;s happening.  On questioning you can find out your triggers for smoking and finds alternate ways of which are more positive for you.  You needs and reasons for wanting to stop smoking will not be the same as anyone else.  So  the personalised CD is for your specific needs. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever noticed that your mood affects how you view things?  If you are feeling happy then everything has a positive slant, you can even see something positive from something negative.  If, however, you are in a low mood (not depressed) but not feeling on top of things, then the universe seems to put more and more obstacles in your way.  Thoughts like &#8220;typical, it always happens to me&#8221;, &#8220;serves me right for doing I was doing something right&#8221; will not improve your mood or lift your spirits.  Hypnotherapy helps you become aware of the power of your thoughts and your self thoughts.  If you don&#8217;t feel good about yourself, that comes across in your tone of voice, how you hold yourself.  For others, you can put on &#8220;a front&#8221;, the energy expended not being true to yourself is unreal and they end up feeling worn out and burnt physically and mentally.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was with interest I read an article in 11th August 2008 Irish Independent Health and Living Supplement about fertility coaching.  Have you noticed that when trying to get pregnant or having suffered miscarriage, all you see and hear are babies and pregnant women.  It is like the universe has conspired to rub your face in something you do not have.  No doubt mothers will be shouting at children or you see very young looking pregnant girls and you think  &#8220;why them&#8221;, &#8220;they don&#8217;t even want their children&#8221;.  It gets harder and harder to see anything else - waiting each month and the disappointment when you know you are not pregnant.  It is no wonder you are stressed.  Mental and physical stress wears out you and imagine what this pressure does to your ovaries - it&#8217;s like the tighten up because the rest of you is tightly wound up.  Even the very act of baby making is pressure - am I pregnant now? legs up to help the sperm travel? Your personality changes, there is no joy because you are consumed with becoming pregnant or the lack of pregnancy and yet there is nothing wrong with you or your partner.</p>
<p>With hypnosis, you can learn to relax mentally and physically.  Let the mental tiredness disappear, so that you start to put things in perspective.  Hypnosis can help you to visualise a  baby in your future so that there is hope that is not tainted with fear of failure.  Feeling the contentment without sadness is a stepping stone to relaxing your reproductive system.</p>
<p>Another session will be visualizing your egg accepting your partner&#8217;s sperm and the union making a baby.</p>
<p>As not every couple will become parents, an important question to ask yourself is &#8220;will you both be content and happy in a family of just 2&#8243;.  If planning IVF, the stress alone needs a very strong relationship.</p>

<p>All of these are valid fears - smoking will (if you&#8217;re in your 30s) be the most consistent and reliable thing in your life.  It will be like losing a friend and for the more chronic smokers (30+ a day) they will, of course be a grieving period.  You cannot underestimate the relationship you have had with cigarettes.</p>
<p>But it can change, you can lear a more positive way of dealing with stress, build confidence, deal with your food issues - because the cigarettes do not actually make you the life and soul of the party, relax you or give you something to do - you control you.  You can learn to use your time more productively.</p>
<p>To finish with, remember fear is an acronym for:</p>
<p><strong>F</strong>alse <strong>E</strong>xpectations <strong>A</strong>ppearing <strong>R</strong>eal</p>
<p>So why not belief in yourself and use hypnosis to help you overcome the habit of smoking for ever!</p>
