Here’s a little exercise to give you an example of how visualisation and hypnosis can help. All hypnosis is self hypnosis.
Let’s begin:
- Make yourself comfortable.
- Take a deep breath in through your nose and hold for the mental count of 5 and release in a big whoosh and gently close your eyes and do this 2 more times.
- Starting with your toes and feet, contract and release the muscles, going through all the muscle groups. Think the words “calm and relaxed, calm and relaxed”.
- Your mouth may fall open slightly and this is because the jaw muscles have relaxed.
- Now form an image of yourself after you have lost weight. See your form, like a sculpture, chisel out the new body.
- Open your eyes.
- Look at nothing in particular.
- Close your eyes.
- Relax.
- Form an image again, add more detail.
- Open your eyes, look at nothing in particular.
- Close your eyes.
- Now this time, look in a mirror and see yourself in your new form and shape.
- You are surrounded by those who love you. See them admiring your new shape.
- Now step into the image. Feel the admiring glances. Feel the love. See what you see, hear what you and feel what you feel.
- How do you feel – you have achieved your goal and reached your target dress size/weight.
- Take a moment to enjoy your success and the feel of your new body and feel the love.
- Now step back into yourself and bring all those good feelings with you.
- Where do you feel that good feeling – in your head, stomach, wherever.
- Give it a shape and colour – make it bigger, brighter and full of colour.
- Count back from 10 to 1 and on the count of 1 say “fully aware” and take a moment to fully orientate to the present.
I can guarantee you are feeling good now.
