Mind-Body Pain Management
Do you suffer with:
- back pain;
- joint pain;
- chronic pain;
Would you like to:
- feel better;
- have better pain control;
- wake up feeling normal?
When we experience pain, our body tenses up as our focus is on trying not to feel pain. Therein lies the problem – the more we focus on not experiencing pain, the more our body tenses increasing the pain and thereby all we notice is the pain.
Whether your pain is transient or chronic, the symptoms of pain and their duration and intensity will be controlled by your mind.
Using my mind-body pain management programme, you learn to focus on how you want to be, you can learn how to desensitize parts of your body and learning how to work with your body. Thereby learning how to assist rather resist the pain.
Take for example, childbirth. By its nature, “labour” is not called labour for nothing. It is an intensive pain but it is the body’s way to push the baby out of the body. Working with this pain, the focus is understanding as the contractions get closer and more intense, you are getting closer to seeing your baby. Easing into the pain so that when the contraction is over, you can go into a deep state to get ready for the next contraction.
Neck and back pain can be relieved as allowing the body to relax and the mind to switch off, the joints and muscles can move more freely. This is especially important if there is no physical reason for the pain. You can find yourself better able to manage the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Cancer sufferers can use the mind-body pain management programme to help ease the side effects related to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Mind body focus enables a change of the thought process to enable the mind to switch off just for a little while to give some degree of comfort.
Chronic fatigue syndrome can be helped by, again, enabling the mind to switch off and allowing the mind and body to recover and rejuvenate. Switching on your own self healing forces.
Fibromyalgia sufferers will find their immune system being aided by this ability to relax deep within themselves. The depression and anxiety symptoms that can often mask the diagnosis of the fibromyalgia improves as do the symptoms of fibromyalgia. The sensation of pain can be reduced to bring about an ease to physical symptoms.
My Mind-Body Pain Management Programme is about giving you another way to ease your pain and the symptoms related to the pain itself and/or the medications you may take for pain.
It is about understanding your pain. It is not about eliminating pain but about being able to live around your pain so you no longer have to live life revolving around your pain. Depression, anxiety, irritability etc can improve with my programme as it is about changing the perception of how pain is viewed within your body.
