Is your fear of flying holding you back?

So what’s happening when you have a fear of flying:
your subconscious mind primary function is to protect you. So the idea of flying in a cylinder is not appealing. Where is your escape? At least on a boat you could swim to safety in the event of an emergency. The fact that you may not be able to swim does not factor in your subconscious. But it wants an outcome. This is true for people who would tend to be cautious.
I have noticed that flying, because it is not an everyday occurrence, can be used to funnel general anxieties that cannot be realised in everyday life. You can hold it together until flying. There was no identifying event to cause panic and anxiety so it can be a totally unrelated to flying trigger that now causes a fear of flying.
Yet more clients would have control issues – you cannot direct the plane, you cannot see what the pilot sees. You have to depend on someone else.
It can be very hard to relinquish control. It means having to trust the unknown. But using hypnosis and NLP to help overcome fear of flying, you can “learn” to accept that sometimes someone else is capable of being in control.
What happens in the session?
In a typical session, your panic and anxiety are simulated in the safety of the office to give you the opportunity to control what is going on inside you.
This is important so that you know you can control the rise in panic and identify when exactly it begins. This varies from person to person.
