Hypnosis and NLP are used to reprogramme eating habits and to encourage the mind to believe that a gastric band has been fitted. As with any issue, there is some work required on the part of the participant. There are 3 to 4 sessions before the gastric band is “fitted” to reprogramme the bad habits and get into the right frame of mind for the gastric band to be successful. The client commits to following the guidelines and playing CDs /MP3s as directed.
Remember it’s not what you eat but what eats you and unless the emotional relationship with food is dealt with, any attempts to change your body will fail in the long-term. Over-eating is in the mind and when we overeat, we are trying to deny or give ourselves an internal hug with food and this food is usually the unhealthy kind. Emotional hunger is sudden, physical hunger builds. It is important to look at the triggers and prepare for a new way of being. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got.
The virtual gastric band enables you to feel fuller and more satisfied with smaller amounts of food. You are learning to tune into your body and recognise feelings of satiety. We are all eating more than our bodies can tolerate, we are stopped paying attention to the actual needs of our bodies instead we are letting upset and anxiety tell us what to eat. Essentially you have to decide that you are worthy of a slimmer body. If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you always got. Get ready now to get out of your own way and learn to control what is going on inside your mind and body.
This is not a diet. It is about re-establishing an eating pattern that suits your body, not to suit your emotions.
Gastric bands are recommended with a BMI over 28 and this is the guideline for a hypnotic gastric band. Six sessions are required.
