			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many years ago I got caught up in the Rubik&#8217;s Cube craze of the  1980&#8242;s(The first time around). I tried again and again to solve the  cube. But could only succeed in getting the top 2/3 of the cube&#8217;s  colours aligned properly. I finally gave in and bought a book and  discovered that with a halve solved  Rubik&#8217;s Cube you have to scramble  the top two completed layers in order to recombine the colours into a finished  cube.</p>
<p>I had fallen into the classic trap:</p>
<p><strong>Definitely not loosing now is better that maybe winning in the  future.</strong></p>
<p>In other words we are so caught up in keeping what we have that we  are often afraid of taking the last few steps needed to complete our  goals for fear of losing what we have already achieved and ending up  with nothing.</p>
<p><strong>By not wanting to lose anything we end up losing everything.</strong></p>
<p>I have a friend who one day mentioned that he&#8217;d like to take up  squash. At that time I was consulting at a company working with a guy  who was a squash fanatic. So I suggested they get together. So they  started playing together regularly.</p>
<p>Time after time the squash player would come into work and boast of  how he had beat my friend yet again. I asked my friend why he kept  playing. &#8220;I want to learn how to play squash,&#8221; was his answer.</p>
<p>This went on for months. Then one day the squash player came in and  said how my friend had &#8220;gotten lucky&#8221; and beat him. Then he lost to my  friend for the second time. The next week the squash fanatic was &#8220;very  busy now days. It&#8217;s hard to find the time.&#8221; And he no longer played my  friend.</p>
<p>I caught up with my friend and asked him for his side of the story.</p>
<p>His explanation was simple, &#8220;I lost 15 games in a row because every  time I played him I tried something different. He won 15 games in a row  by doing the same thing each and every game. The 16th time I tried  something different I won. The 17th time we played I did what I&#8217;d done  in match 16 he did what he had done in all 16 matches. I won. The 17th  time he did the same thing yet again. I built on what I had discovered  in match 16. I won again. We never played a 18th match.&#8221;</p>
<p>I no longer consult at that firm but from time to time I still run  into the fanatical squash player.  I always ask him about his squash  games with my friend. He always boasts about beating him 15 times in a  row. When I ask when the next game will be he is always too busy to  play.</p>
<p>He had learned how to win squash games by playing in a certain way  that would get him a certain amount of success. He had learned to judge  which players he could beat and which he couldn&#8217;t, and so chose which  players he would play accordingly. He had decided he had learned enough  and didn&#8217;t want to learn anything new. So he didn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>The trouble is the world keeps changing. New things keep happening  all the time.</p>
<p><strong>If you stop learning you will get left behind.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you noticed that your confidence can vary?  In your single days, you could do anything but then a partner and children come along and I often wonder if it is because we are so pulled in all directions that sometimes we can have a crisis of confidence.  Having children may make us feel more vulnerable, we worry about them and for them.  It is no longer just &#8220;about you&#8221;.</p>
<p>Single girls will have their own stresses.  Mothers and grandmothers wondering why you are still not married and perhaps you&#8217;ve heard your mother say &#8220;she&#8217;s fussy&#8221;.  What if you don&#8217;t want a man in your life &#8211; society makes judgement and God forbid you opt to be a single parent!  Despite living in the 21st century, we are expected to be a good wife and mother, take a back seat at work (well, men have to provide for families is the thought) and be everything to everyone.</p>
<p>Hypnosis can give you time for you.  The relaxation from it is a great way to unwind from the stresses and strains of life.  Play it as you drift off to sleep and wake up refreshed and invigorated.</p>

<p>I believe that women are under immense stress in this century. </p>
<p>You can have it all as long as the everything is what you want and not what your mother or society forces upon you.  When I qualified it was my wish to present a caring and nuturing environment for women to express what bothered them &#8211; things they may not tell their closest friends.  How to grieve for a lost baby, how to deal with not becoming pregnant, how to open yourself up to love, how to present yourself with confidence in a non threatening way etc.  Then there are the other issues, difficulty in relationships, difficulty with children from bedwetting to adolescence.  How to cope with the changes a newborn brings or how to find inner peace if these things do not come your way.  Depression is more common now among young women and I believe it is because we try to live up to the demands that society places upon us.  Hypnosis can give you an outlet.  Your subconscious mind records the hurts that you try to hide but they are still there.  Anger, guilt and resentment will eat away.  Releasing negative emotions with hypnosis can free you mentally and physically.  Have you ever used the expression &#8220;part of me&#8221; &#8211; well, there are different parts to you and if there is conflict then there is unease.  By accessing the subconscious mind with hypnosis, you can allow the &#8220;parts&#8221; to express themselves about why they hold onto whatever it is they hold on and then come to an agreement so that you find inner peace.</p>
<p>We only get one life and isn&#8217;t it worth getting peace of mind.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You feel the colour in your face changing and the heat building, your initial response is probably along the lines of &#8220;stop blushing&#8221; or &#8220;don&#8217;t blush now&#8221;.  The more you try to quenc the heat and colour of the blush &#8211; the stronger and more intense it becomes.  Your voice weakens, you may even lose it, your throat is dry, hands wet and clammy.  How can you stop it?</p>
<p>Hypnosis will and can help you but before I explain how it is important to understand how your subconscious mind operates.</p>
<p>The subconscious mind does not recognise negative words like &#8220;stop&#8221; or &#8220;not&#8221; or &#8220;don&#8217;t&#8221;.  So let&#8217;s take the above sentence you might say to yourself &#8220;stop blushing&#8221; &#8211; what the subconscious mind hears is &#8220;blushing&#8221;.  So it goes through it&#8217;s inner dictionary (just a computer, it has programmes and files within it &#8211; but more on this another day).</p>
<p>In the dictionary it finds &#8220;blushing = red face, throat dry, hands clammy, nervousness in stomach (and whatever else you feel&#8221;.  Hey presto, your subconscious mind gives you what you asked!</p>
<p>So you need to re-programme, delete and make a new file: &#8220;my face is pale and cool, my hands are dry &#8230;. the opposite of the previous symptoms.  It does take practice and like any new skill, the more you practice the better you get.  You can apply this to any situation that previously made you feel uncomfortable.</p>
<p>Have I done myself out of work?!</p>
<p>Hypnosis can help you practice these techniques.  No matter how logical we are about things, it doesn&#8217;t really seem to make much of a difference so we need to access the subconscious mind and this happens with hypnosis.</p>
<p>Hypnosis is a concentrated relaxation (we are concentrating on the face being cool and pale) &#8211; (did you notice my phrasing).  Using various aids including visualisation techniques you can overcome the blushing.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever noticed that your mood affects how you view things?  If you are feeling happy then everything has a positive slant, you can even see something positive from something negative.  If, however, you are in a low mood (not depressed) but not feeling on top of things, then the universe seems to put more and more obstacles in your way.  Thoughts like &#8220;typical, it always happens to me&#8221;, &#8220;serves me right for doing I was doing something right&#8221; will not improve your mood or lift your spirits.  Hypnotherapy helps you become aware of the power of your thoughts and your self thoughts.  If you don&#8217;t feel good about yourself, that comes across in your tone of voice, how you hold yourself.  For others, you can put on &#8220;a front&#8221;, the energy expended not being true to yourself is unreal and they end up feeling worn out and burnt physically and mentally.</p>
<p>When you hear the little voice instead your head telling you that you&#8217;re not good enough or who did you think you are &#8211; hypnotherapy and NLP can help you create a STOP sign in your mind so that you can silence the voice and change the thoughts have held you back.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the past it is not the event itself that triggers the unwanted response/habit, it is the meaning we attribute to the event that gives it significance.  for example, when I think of my grandmother, I&#8217;m immediately transported to the smell of freshly baked bread and I&#8217;m in her kitchen, remembering the love and warmth of it &#8211; not the actual technique of making the bread!  When you can see the difference, that&#8217;s when we get change happening.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You know that you can have insight and be logical about your problem but it doesn&#8217;t seem to make any difference to the blushing, anxiety, stress with attempts to stop smoking, lose weight etc.  Why?  Because we reason with the logical part of the mind, the left side, and where is the hurt that prompted the problem in the first place &#8211; it&#8217;s in your subconscious mind!  The only way to access your subconscious mind is with the use of hypnosis.  Hypnosis is a deep relaxation where you are fully aware but are just so relaxed you keep you eyes closed.  When in this relaxed state, the subconscious mind will offer up its secrets to the conscious level and in therapy, this can help you to overcome your problem &#8211; we find the cause and make it lose its effect!  For suggestion therapy, for stop smoking, wart removal or any of the more habit problems, when you are relaxed, suggestions are offered to the subconscious about new ways of looking at what used to be a problem for you.</p>
<p>Only your subconscious mind knows what caused the problem in the first place and only your subconscious mind can make the change.  But it is not a magic pill or cure.  It is about empowering you.  Internal acceptance and validation help you to become the person you really want to be.  There is no dependant relationship with me.  Solution focused therapy is the method I use so that you are in therapy for the shortest time possible maximum 12 weeks.  That is because we start with your goal and work towards it whether it is to feel relaxed in social situations, relaxed being a non smoker, more confident and assertive &#8211; with hypnosis you can your own magic happen and it is a tool for life.</p>
