			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you want to stop smoking, lose weight, control your anger, manage stress, in fact, anything, the rules of change are simple:  you need 3 things &#8211; hope, faith and courage.  Hope is the desire for something better for or about yourself.  Hypnosis can keep you mind focused on this hope so that it becomes your goal and you are sure of your destination.  Faith is believing in what you hope for &#8211; if you think you can, you can, if you think you can&#8217;t, you can&#8217;t.  Hypnosis can help to be determined and strong in your conviction.  Never, ever tell anyone your hopes unless they are part of the team necessary to get you there.  Courage is taking the effort in terms of your mindset and physically to get and get what you want.  How many times do we dream of winning the lottery but yet never buy a ticket or buy too many tickets.  The thought combined with emotion (positive) plus action = change.  Seeing and feeling yourself as having made the change and this image feels good is a demonstration to your mind that what was presumed sacrifice actually is no sacrifice at all because what you achieve is so much better.  You make a plan and you have to action it.  Remember if you always do what you&#8217;ve always done, you will always get what you&#8217;ve always got!  Humans are the only species will keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.  To make your change, make the call 086 1038892 or email <a href="mailto:zita@zitastanley.com">zita@zitastanley.com</a>.  Upper Baggot Street only.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The benefit of visiting me as a female hypnotherapist is achieving a level of relaxation that is necessary to achieve a good depth of hypnosis to cultivate and create change.  For a female client, visiting me as a female hypnotherapist is akin to talking to friends, the comfort level of sharing and being listened to with the emphasis on making you achieve what you want to achieve.  Many male clients feel more comfortable with me as a female hypnotherapist as men are automatically subconsciously in competition with each other.  I am relaxed, non judgmental and really am a mascot for you as you seek to make changes.  As is usual, some clients would prefer a more authoritive therapist but really it is about making you feel confident in yourself.  My job is not to tell you what to do but it is my job to ensure that you realise all the resources you have inside you and how to access them easily.  I can only speak for myself and my experiences of what I have to offer you &#8211; a calm, relaxed environment where you can vocalise what you want for yourself without censoring yourself.  I can help you achieve that.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-820" title="Christmas present" src="http://zitastanley.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Christmas-present-150x150.gif" alt="Christmas present" width="150" height="150" />Christmas Day and you have all the various family gatherings &#8211; blended families, in-laws etc all adding to the chaos so what to you do. Too much food, too much drink, too many people.  How do you remain calm?  My gift to you &#8211; Learn to breath.  It can really make all the difference. </p>
<p>Get a few minutes alone and probably the bathroom is the only place.  Sit down, with shoulders over hips, knees over ankles and take a deep breath in (as though sucking the air up) for the mental count of 3, hold for the mental count of 3 and release through an open mouth (really push that air out) for the mental count of 6.  Repeat x 2. </p>
<p>Notice where you feel the anxiety, give it a shape and note red arrows showing the direction of the anxiety.  Push it outside of you, turn the arrows from red to blue, change their direction and allow back inside you &#8211; you are controlling and diminishing the anxiety/stress.</p>
<p>Now see yourself calm and relaxed, let these words run through your mind.  See a knock-on effect your calmness has on others.</p>
<p>Now open your eyes and stretch.  Remember the whole purpose of the gathering is supposed to be fun.  Last year my turkey was rotten (which I didn&#8217;t discover until Christmas morning) and we ended up having chicken breasts (which were in the freezer and had to be thawed) with the vegetables and roast potatoes!  Dinner was several hours late.  Now, I could have let it ruin the day but with my calming deep breath (just after a few expletives!), calmness was restored and nobody minded. </p>
<p>Think calm and relaxed, calm and relaxed and have a Happy Christmas.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Trying to change something about yourself is never easy.  The desire for a continued habit and routine is very powerful and some schools of thought suggest that it is more powerful than the survival instinct that each of us possesses.  So armed with that information, in the past you may recognise how you self sabotaged any attempts to stop smoking, weight reduction, overcome fears and anxiety, blushing, confidence building.  With hypnosis and NLP (neuro linguistic programming) we are re-programming the mind so that the desire and benefit of the positive change far outweighs what you are receiving now from the habit.  That is how hypnosis and NLP work in conjunction with your imagination and desire for the change.  If you truly do not want to change, then nothing is going to make the change you make stick.  The function of NLP is that we create new neural pathways (new ways of re-wiring the brain to promote new thinking and therefore, your reaction changes to one more positive) but it is done by creating a new you that is excited about living with the new, positive change and the knock-on effect this has in your life and those in it.</p>
<p>You can be anything or any way you choose to be, you make the choice.  Hypnosis and NLP are tools to enable to make the change and make it stick.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In a hypnotic session, (when you relax your conscious mind drifts off) and your subconscious mind becomes open to allow for adjustments or re-programming that is for your benefit.  You are making the change, no-one else can make you change an unwanted habit or feeling unless you want to change.  You have full control and power.  My job is to help you focus, hyper-focus on the change you want to make and rather say, eg, I want to stop smoking &#8211; I  ask more probing questions like why do you want to stop (smoking), what difference will this change make to your life, what is life going to be life for you with this change in place.</p>
<p>We need more than words to make change, you need to be able to feel it, see it, smell it, taste how great life is going to be with this change.  But we also look at what can go wrong and what you will do circumvent obstacles, people etc that may try to thwart you.  Remember it is not just you who has to accept change &#8211; your loved ones, family and friends have to re-adjust their idea/view of you.</p>
<p>Remember your subconsious mind has the reasons for your unwanted habit and only your subconscious can facilitate the change.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Part of the process in changing over from negative to positive self talk is at a conscious level.  When you feel bad about yourself and are self critical, I&#8217;d like you to ask yourself the following questions:</p>
<p>Negative self talk &#8211; &#8220;I am &#8230;&#8230;..&#8221; or &#8220;I feel&#8230;..&#8221; (fill in the dots)</p>
<p>Let us challenge this:</p>
<p>What proves this?  Please list.</p>
<p>Is it always true for you?</p>
<p>Does it promote positive feelings about yourself?</p>
<p>For example, while you may feel &#8220;panic&#8221; &#8211; does this define you as being powerless?</p>
<p>Self hypnosis is a great way to relax and perhaps relax mentally and physically in a way you have never experienced before.  All hypnosis is self hypnosis whether in the office with me or at home.  I am your guide.  There is no right or wrong.  Everyone feels different.  But the experience is of feeling really, really relaxed.  When you are nice and relaxed, recall some events that made you feel good, however fleeting, and notice where you feel them and say to yourself &#8220;I am a unique human being and I love myself&#8221;.  If you don&#8217;t love or even like yourself &#8211; how do you expect others to?  Again, it is all about practice.  Last thing at night and on wakening, think of two nice things about yourself.  Programme yourself to have a good day while brushing your teeth.  Give yourself permission to feel good and to think good thoughts.  If something goes wrong &#8211; what was good about it?  Look for the positive.  Seek and you shall find.  Thinking positive is very hard work because we are programmed into negative thinking.  If the news bothers you, switch it off.  Look forward to a great 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fighting your symptoms of panic and anxiety actually increases the intensity of the feelings.  With hypnosis you can learn how to relax and little tricks to fool the body into believing it is in a relaxed state.  Tips include:</p>
<p>1. Learning to breathe deeply (from your stomach rather than shallow breathing).</p>
<p>2. Feel the feelings &#8211; &#8220;I know I am feeling symptoms of anxiety&#8221;.  Acknowledge them.  Now think &#8220;I am calm and relaxed, calm and relaxed&#8221;.  Like a surfer who lets the wave carry him so you are riding the wave of the symptoms &#8211; it will peak but then drop.  Positive thoughts like &#8220;calm and relaxed&#8221; are ideal to reduce and bring down your &#8220;wave&#8221; of anxiety.</p>
<p>3. Focus on what you want to feel, not on what you don&#8217;t want.  Take it symptom and think about the opposite &#8211; for example, clammy hands &#8211; &#8220;my hands are dry&#8221;, heart racing &#8211; &#8220;my heart is beating at a normal rhythm&#8221;.  You are instructing your subconscious mind on what you want.</p>
<p>Final thought:  Remember you have years of conditioning you into a panic state and to feel fear.  Be realistic in your expectations.  It takes practice.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now our thoughts turn to New Year&#8217;s &#8211; it is a time of reflection and looking forward to the next year.  Where do you want to be this time next year &#8211; both physically and emotionally.  You know when you hear a certain song, or smell a certain smell, you can be transported back to the moment that make that particular thing significant to you.  That&#8217;s your subconscious mind &#8211; whether positive or negative, a emotion was activated to cause something &#8211; a sound, smell, view &#8211; to be important.  Now we can use that to your advantage in making whatever changes you wish to make &#8211; all senses must be activated &#8211; you must be able to see it, feel it, smell, hear it, touch it.  (Actually, I&#8217;m reminded of an old tv ad for a breakfast cereal &#8211; you must salivate at the prospect!).</p>
<p>Take a deep breathe in through your nose for the count of 5, hold for the count of 5 and release through your mouth for the count of 5.  Repeat x 2.  Just relax all your muscle groups &#8211; tense and release the muscles.  Think the words &#8220;calm and relaxed&#8221;.  Now imagine your goal as if it has already been achieved.  Feel how good it feels and notice where you feel this good feeling. </p>
<p>You can use this for any aspect of your life &#8211; but the feeling must be so intense as to knock out/re-write the unwanted habit or thought.</p>
