Why hypnosis works

You know that you can have insight and be logical about your problem but it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the blushing, anxiety, stress with attempts to stop smoking, lose weight etc.  Why?  Because we reason with the logical part of the mind, the left side, and where is the hurt that prompted the problem in the first place - it’s in your subconscious mind!  The only way to access your subconscious mind is with the use of hypnosis.  Hypnosis is a deep relaxation where you are fully aware but are just so relaxed you keep you eyes closed.  When in this relaxed state, the subconscious mind will offer up its secrets to the conscious level and in therapy, this can help you to overcome your problem - we find the cause and make it lose its effect!  For suggestion therapy, for stop smoking, wart removal or any of the more habit problems, when you are relaxed, suggestions are offered to the subconscious about new ways of looking at what used to be a problem for you.

Only your subconscious mind knows what caused the problem in the first place and only your subconscious mind can make the change.  But it is not a magic pill or cure.  It is about empowering you.  Internal acceptance and validation help you to become the person you really want to be.  There is no dependant relationship with me.  Solution focused therapy is the method I use so that you are in therapy for the shortest time possible maximum 12 weeks.  That is because we start with your goal and work towards it whether it is to feel relaxed in social situations, relaxed being a non smoker, more confident and assertive - with hypnosis you can your own magic happen and it is a tool for life.

What hypnotherapists do

Hypnotherapists do not “rescue” you from whatever problem you  have whether it is anxiety, smoking, nail biting etc.  Your hypnotherapist helps you  to discover or learn more resourceful ways of thinking, behaving, acting, responding so that you are empowered.  It is only with finding these resources from within will you ever truly overcome your problem.

So whatever emotional upset or habit you want to break, let me be your guide and call me on 086 1038892 now.

Fear of Flying Anxiety/Nervous and What Hypnosis Does.

When do you get anxious about flying?
Does talk of booking a flight start to nauseate you or is it when you start to pack?
Everyone is different when it comes to how anxious they are and when these symptoms begin.
If you have never flown before then of course there is a natural apprehension about flying -it’s an unnatural thing to do.  So, your subconscious mind wants to keep you safe and secure but remember your subconscious has no logic, no understanding so no amount of making your fear or anxiety logical can help in the long-term, you must go to the subconscious and teach/re-programme it, so that the anxiety and nervousness with regard to flying fears can be alleviated.  What hypnosis does is help you to relax, so that you feel that you can change and feel different rather than letting a fear of flying control you.  When you think of flying, you probably feel the flutter in your tummy or perhaps your heart beats a little faster… setting in motion the chain of events and you didn’t even go near a plane!  With hypnosis we disrupt the neuro-physiological pattern so that you can think of flying, planes, booking a flight etc and you are calm rather the anxiety and nervousness which you have already “trained” yourself to feel.

Let hypnosis help you control and overcome your fear of flying so that you enjoy your holiday/business trip and may I say, enjoy rather than endure your flight.

Motivation and Hypnosis.

Whatever change you want to make, you need some form of motivation or otherwise you would not change. Make change is never easy whether it is to stop smoking, lose weight, get focused on the job you want, motivation to set up your own business, gain confidence you will need some help. Hypnosis is such a focused tool at your disposal to give you laser focus on what you want. Hypnosis helps to concentrate your mind on that one change. Remember, you can only work on one change at a time (that’s why New Year Resolutions fail - we try too many changes and achieve nothing). Listening to a hypnotic CD/MP3 reminds your subconscious mind that you want to change. The theory is to make change permanent it takes 21 days for it to be fully absorbed by the subconscious mind.

If you are new to hypnosis and hypnotherapy, what has stopped you in the past from fulfilling your goals, was it the little voice in your head telling you that you “don’t deserve it”, “not good enough”, “no time”, “that’s not for you” - you get the drift. If you feel this is the obstacle because the voice gets so loud you must obey it then please consider hypnosis where we can access your subconscious and quieten the voice once and for all.

Do you really want to end your days regretting the things you didn’t do? You can be and/or change anything about yourself that you are not happy with - hypnosis helps you to feel confidence that you can achieve your goals. Sometimes it is easier to choose the safe option and continue to complain and feel sorry for yourself but if you want to change and get the feeling that you can change through hypnosis who knows what you can achieve.

Anxiety and Hypnosis

All focus (or so it seems) is on you - you feel your face going red, your heart beating as though it is about to jump out your chest (or your mouth), sweating palms, you begin to dissociate, your mouth becomes dry or stops working and you feel as though you are slurring your words.  Does this seem familiar?  You are not alone.  Every dealing with more than one person is an ordeal you anticipate.

What begins to happen is that you anticipate the above happening and you set the image in your mind of being uncomfortable and feeling very nervous and anxiety and hey presto, that is exactly what happens.  And so the vicious circle continues….

Your mind does not know the difference between what is real or what is imagined - you set the standard and it follows suit - after all, it is only doing what you expect.

What would life be like for you if you could reverse the symptoms and actually only feel normal anticipation (say for giving a presentation)? What would that mean to you? Is it something you have ever thought about? We will all say I “don’t want….” but the subconscious does not recognise the word “not” so in effect you are saying “I want to feel anxious” without realising it!

So, I want you to make a list to answer the above questions and each answer is to start with “I want to feel…I want to be….” with a positive statement. Hypnosis helps by accessing the subconscious and using relaxation and visualisation techniques to overcome each symptom and learn to re-wind it as it were. Sometimes we can be so caught up in the negative that we do not know how to be positive and therefore put up obstacles.

Hypnosis can help re-enforce the behavioural changes necessary to overcome anxiety whatever the type of anxiety you suffer from. No matter how logically you work out your anxiety it is not going to change unless you access your powerhouse of emotion – the subconscious mind. Therapy is required for moderate to severe cases to uncover the precipitating event and gain closure. For presentation confidence, suggestion therapy will usually be sufficient (i.e. just dealing with the symptoms). With hypnosis we access the subconscious mind and reprogramme the old way of behaving so that the new ways are acceptable. In this way, we create a positive scenario. This isn’t easy as the sufferer you are used to behaving a certain way. What will your life be like with your new found relaxed way of dealing with situations that used to previously caused you so much pain both mentally and physically? How will people react to you now? Creating change is never easy but it will be worth it – do you really want to live you life in fear/panic? Do you want this anxiety to make you socially isolated? I don’t think so. But there is no magic cure and it takes time and effort on your part. Are you ready to make the change from panic to relaxation?

Hypnosis Blushing, Confidence, Anxiety, Stress Management etc.

At the basics of hypnosis and hypnotherapy is to take what works for you and make it better so that the positive outweighs the negative, your thinking process is engaged towards solutions rather than possible problems, you are practical with regard to worrying, you manage stress adequately, concentrate on a pale face so you stop blushing, you act confidence physically and the internal confidence builds inside you.  What happens, one day comes and you haven’t had to think about the steps necessary to stop blushing, stop smoking etc.  Your mind automaticallly (and that is your subconscious mind) goes to positive thoughts.  We all have something that works for us deep down inside.  We have forgotten it.  You have over the years trained your mind to automatically think the worst and this causes anxiety.  Why does it cause anxiety?  Because it is not really who you are.  We should always strive to be better, to push ourselves out of the comfort zone, to see opportunity.  Take what you have that works at any level and build on that so that it thrives with good thoughts, perhaps training or practicing whatever it takes to get it better.

Blushing Anxiety and Hypnotherapy

Immediate relief of symptoms - doesn’t that sound good. That’s what hypnotherapy offers you - imagine slight nervousness which turns to excitement, your face pale and cool, your hands dry, your voice strong, you are standing tall with shoulders back and in a relaxed position, your heart beating normally, your stomach at ease. What would that mean to you? Would the new confident you do a different job, or enjoy life a little bit more? Sometimes sufferers get (understandably so) avoidant with their behaviour that they forget to think what life would be life with blushing was under control and the associated anxiety would subside and whatever knock-on effects usually occurred were gone because there was nothing to trigger them. What if you could look, dare I say, it forward to some social activity. Of course this is possible. You didn’t always blush or feel anxious. Children and animals do not blush. Children are born with a natural fearlessness that we learn to over-ride as we get older! So you didn’t always feel this blushing or anxiety. But now it has overwhelmed your life (for some) or become a feature to hold you back. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help you to overturn these symptoms and you learn immediate relief. Doesn’t that sound wonderful. However, hypnosis is not a cure for blushing. Hypnosis (a concentrated relaxation) makes you more aware of the “set up” in the process of blushing and anxiety so you step in earlier to stop a full blushing and anxiety attack. Hypnotherapy is a short concentrated solution focused therapy - with concentration and solution on being whatever you need - more confidence, higher self esteem, learning how to deal with authority or whatever your trigger happens to be.

Make the change and make the call now 086 1038892 and you can experience the benefits of hypnosis and hypnotherapy on your blushing and anxiety.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is therapy carried out under hypnosis which essentially allows you to make change very quickly. The focus is the one change you wish to make in your life and a short, concise and focused therapy to help you build your self reliance. You gain the opportunity to harness the new and re-ignited skills within yourself in the future. It is about raising your self belief that you can be stop smoking, lose weight, get the great job you want, have a family, find a partner, overcome depression and anxiety, stop blushing or whatever change you wish to make.

You must want to make the change and believe that change for you is possible - you don’t have to believe in the process but be open minded. Expect positive change and look forward to positive change! Take a moment right now to write down goals for each area of your life - let’s face it, if you were content as you are now you wouldn’t be reading this. Write down the categories - lifestyle, health, family, relationships, financial, educational - whatever areas are in your life. Then list the goals or aspirations you have in each category. Now the most important is to timeline them so you see at a glance what the most pressing issue is for you. Hypnosis is great to help clarify our thoughts and organize the areas in your life.

Then set out the tasks you need to take to make each goal a reality - do you have to connect with someone, do you have do a course, do you have _________? Again set out a to-do list with these. Remember the day is not over until you can tick off everything on your life. Life being life, no doubt you may be thrown a curve ball but re-arrange the timeline - it’s not set in stone but don’t let things slide because of laziness.

Self Help with Hypnosis

Any self help that uses hypnosis is going to be more successful. Why? Because you must tackle the underlying issues and they are usually anxiety based or a fear that stops you from being the best you can be. Hypnotherapy is therapy using hypnosis to help you make changes a change at a subconscious level. This is where the problem started and as one could, you must “return to the scene of crime”. This return is to help you let go, release unresolved upset, even guilt. Then you rebuild and look forward knowing that the past no longer has a hold over you. All hypnosis is self hypnosis and as such you are learning a valuable self help tool to aid you in making other changes in your life. Some might say that “self help” is an oxymoron if you are actually seeing a therapist, reading books, going on self improvement courses. Any help that helps your inner self is of benefit but as long as you gaining benefit. We can be logical about the way the negative way we behave and have what psychiatrists term “insight” i.e. a good understanding but this does not solve the problem or deal with the symptoms you fee. Why not? Because the hurt to the inner self did not happen on a logical basis - if it did we would not have any problems.

Self help is about healing, letting go of negativity, release guilt. What is the underlying symptom you feel? This can take a little while to untangle as over the years you have added to it. With hypnotherapy we must have a focus - a solution to work towards. One change at a time is necessary and important because the subconscious mind can only deal with one change at a time. Take the time to explore hypnosis to see how it can help with your self help actions.

Motivation and Hypnosis

Motivation is wanting to make a change for yourself and not for anyone else. It is about feeling the “inner strength” needed to say no to chocolate or after a long day’s work, the ability to go to the gym or for a run rather than slouch down in front of the t.v. No amount of “shoulds” or “ought to” will motivate you. To keep motivation going, it needs to be supported. You can do this by visualisation exercises (this is where hypnosis comes in) and seeing yourself as you want to be. You must also understand that the change will not occur overnight! And that it takes work on your part. You must also be whole-hearted in your effort. “I’ll try it” is not good enough. The word “try” allows failure as an option. No champion sportsman says “I’ll try”. Indeed not, they use visualisation techniques to see themselves in glory and each step it takes to achieve their glory. And finally for today, you must believe it is possible for you to change.
