			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you seen someone and thought “I wish I had their confidence”?  If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be confident then you can learn ways to be a confident version of yourself.  It is not about being someone obnoxious.  It is about an improved version of yourself that is calmly confident.  It is about you being able to feel at ease within yourself whether your boss is speaking to you or whether you have to give a presentation.  When you feel anxious and lacking self assurance you may feel this distress within you, your stomach may be churning, your mind goes blank, you may feel that you are sweating excessively.  These physiological symptoms can be interrupted.  With the power of your own mind you can stop and reverse the feeling and you know, when one step is interrupted, the sequence is broken and therefore no longer happens. </p>
<p>The “what if” sensation can be replaced with a more positive mantra.  What if it does happen, you can handle it.  Once you take away the fear, you have control.  You do the negative thinking so well, think about how great you would be at thinking positively and hypnosis and NLP can give you the skills that you need to do this.  What could you achieve professionally if you were the confident, at ease self you would wish to be with the conscientious part of you in proportion to the task at hand.  If it not about eradicating your cautious side but to get it to act appropriately.   When you feel confident, what goes on inside your body, inside your mind?  It is this focus within yourself with hypnosis and NLP that will make lasting change.  You are learning to think about what you want for yourself rather than what you don’t want.  With any change, it is important to have a signal to yourself that this has happened.  How would you know that you were becoming confident?   These are the areas that are addressed in a hypnosis and nlp session.  We cannot change the past but we can change the emotional connection.  If the record inside your head is telling you that you will amount to nothing – change it, if the voice is loud and screaming – tell to shut up.  We all have an internal representation of what is going on whether it is a feeling, a noise, a pain that stops you being confident.  We can change what is going on inside you.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1529" title="standing on chair afraid" src="http://zitastanley.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/standing-on-chair-afraid.gif" alt="" width="61" height="116" />How does hypnosis help to you relieve the anxiety of stammering?  For adults and children alike, stammering can have detrimental effects on self esteem and confidence.  Problems will be with certain letters and try as you might to avoid them, you will at some time have to use the words.  Avoidence is not a solution and will actually add to the anxiety when you do have finally use the word.  Hypnosis can help to get rid of the fear associated with speaking in front of others.</p>
<p>Hypnosis works by concentrating on the problem letters and find a solution.  Did you know that sufferers do not stammer while in hypnosis?  It is because they are in a relaxed state.  Anxiety and panic and &#8220;seeing&#8221; the difficulty with the word make life difficult.  Blushing will become part of the panic.  So, now you are dealing with the stammering, panic and blushing!</p>
<p>The most wonderful &#8220;side effect&#8221; of hypnosis is the relaxation element.  The subconscious mind is being programmed to be in a relaxed and calm state while using the problem letters.  What I like to do with clients is to make a sentence with the words beginning with the problem letters (if it is the start of words that causes the problem).  The client repeats the statement over and over easily and gently &#8211; the purpose is a confidence boost from saying the words with problem letters and most importantly a signal to the subconscious mind &#8211; being relaxed with the letters.  Efforts are made a word pacing &#8211; the desire to &#8220;get the words over with&#8221; may trigger you to talk very fast.  Whether excited or anxious, the focus is on speaking clearly and easily with a confident delivery.</p>

Or perhaps you are in  a queue to talk &#8211; your mind is just focused and when it&#8217;s your turn, you don&#8217;t even hear what is being said, just feeling your heart pumping out of your chest, your mouth dry, feeling shaky&#8230;..then it&#8217;s your turn and you talk so fast just to get it over with?  Does it make you feel good?  Perhaps your shakes continues as the excess adrenaline tries to find its way out of your body. </p>
<p>There is another way &#8211; how many times have you noticed someone &#8220;I wish I was like them&#8221; &#8211; they look confident and poised.  You are engaged by them. With hypnosis (for the relaxation) and NLP (for the creativity and visualisation) you can control your heart rate, your posture.  You can learn to be like this other person. You are interrupting the stress response in the body.  With hypnosis we look for when your trigger occurs &#8211; is it on hearing about the presentation, is it while you are waiting, is it just as you open your mouth to speak?  We also look for the sign you need to know that everything is okay &#8211; is it when the first few words come out strong, is it the way you keep your body in control.  With stress/panic, the initial feeling is of lack of control, you feel overwhelmed but you can learn to control these feelings for you.  To recognise the butterflies in your stomach as excitement rather than fear.  To be able to see things from your &#8220;audience&#8221; perspective.  To be able to relax talking in front of others with your mind clear and able to respond to any questions because now you are listening and concentrating on the person asking the question.  In this way you give the best of yourself and grow in confidence at your new found ability to talk freely and at ease.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1484" title="Man Carrying the Sports Pages of a Newspaper" src="http://zitastanley.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/man-breakfast-happy-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" />What does confidence mean to you?  How do you know someone is confident without even talking to them?  As children develop, they learn by copying/mirroring what their significant adults do.  So too as an adult you can use this to your advantage.  Imagine someone real or from tv that looks confident to you (this is the neurolinguistic programming part) - a confidence you can relate to.  See them in their setting and notice how others respond to them.  Look at the subject &#8211; how do they stand, hold themselves, express themselves.  Remember what actually comes out of your mouth only accounts for 7% of communication!  So if your posture and voice are not congruent, others will pick up on this.  Now step into the subject&#8217;s body and see the world through the eyes, move around, be them &#8211; it&#8217;s like trying on clothes &#8211; check the fit.  You are that person.  How do you feel?  How do you feel about the people around you.  Feel the connection between &#8220;you&#8221; and the group.  Feels good? Doesn&#8217;t it.  Now go back into yourself bringing back those good feelings.  How do you feel now?  What has changed &#8211; there is a shift in pattern now.  You can feel it.  Practice this for a few minutes every day and notice how subtle the changes are but you know it&#8217;s working by how others interact with you.  Hypnosis and NLP can help to develop this feeling.  Visualisation techniques are important in confidence &#8211; seeing and believing that you are strong and confident and able to handle any situation that arises in a competent manner as the mind does not know the difference between what is real or imaged, this works to your advantage.</p>

<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: normal;" lang="EN-IE">Drift out of your body in the confident person&#8217;s body;</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: normal;" lang="EN-IE">What does it feel like, how do you feel about the people surrounding you.<span>  </span>Are you standing tall (definitely yes)?<span> </span>How are you reacting to those around you?</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: normal;" lang="EN-IE">Now go back into your own body bringing some of that good energy with you.</span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: normal;" lang="EN-IE">How do you feel now?<span>  </span>I bet it felt good, to feel confident.  <em>Use all your senses.</em></span></li>
</ul>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: normal;" lang="EN-IE">How about spending a couple of minutes every day going into that other person&#8217;s body and emulating them.<span>  </span>It can be an actor, a character, someone you know.<span>  </span>How do they react in a crisis?<span>  </span>How do they react in company?</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://zitastanley.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/confidence.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-973" title="confidence" src="http://zitastanley.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/confidence-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>In this time we are in, being confident has never been more important.  You have to stand out from the crowd for the right reason.  With so many applying for fewer positions, you have to be great at selling you.  If you have a job but there may be a risk of cutbacks, you have to be the one that they keep, the one they feel confident that will get on with things with extra pressure.  So never forget you main job is selling you and you must present a confident front even if you are like jelly inside.  With hypnosis and NLP you can learn to be confident &#8211; confidence is a self belief.  Too many depend on external validation to feel good.  Part of the process of becoming confident is know what it looks like &#8211; defining it for your.  What you ideal image of being confident and then developing it &#8211; how does it feel?  What evidence do you have that you are not confident and when you make this decision not to be confident.  All of these questions can be answered with hypnosis.  If you want to develop your confidence, then email me at <a href="mailto:zita@zitastanley.com">zita@zitastanley.com</a> or call Declan on 087 2420699.  Dublin and Laois appointments.</p>
