Stop Smoking With Hypnosis

What makes you smoke? Having had a stressful day or being bored may prompt you to light a cigarette but did you really want it. We all have behaviours that are prompted by “cues” – a trigger to do something. This is how advertising works – making us feel we have to have the product or our lives won’t be complete. The cue to smoke is a signal to tell you that you need to smoke now – it is automatic. Your subconscious mind is enjoying the “perceived benefits” of smoking. With hypnosis you can harness and change this good feeling to something that is more beneficial for your body. In hypnosis we look at your cues to smoke – social, work and personal. You need to be able to see and feel yourself in these situations and you are smokefree. How many times have you found that the anticipation of the cigarette was better than the reality? Smokers worry about cravings but what is a craving it is immediate need to smoke. Cravings peak and then subside. With hypnosis you are gaining relaxation benefits and the ability to control a craving should it happen. There is more to stopping smoking than just stopping smoking – care needs to be given to environmental and behavioural cues to smoke. That is the beauty of hypnosis – you can rehearse events in your mind and feel confident that you will remain smokefree.
