Being less self conscious means changing your behaviours and reactions. This means stepping outside your comfort zone, breaking through the fear and using the fear to motivate you to change rather than keep you back. In this way, you are challenging the negative thoughts and saying “no more, I deserve and have a right to be part of society, a part of it, not on the edge looking in” and using the power of hypnosis to re-programme your mind for your betterment.
The subconscious mind always has a positive intent but memories of the past have allowed the subconscious mind to set up avoidance behaviours, escape mechanisms in a bid to help but as you know well, this actually compounds the problem. With hypnosis you are moving out of your head. A lot of energy is involved in negative thinking and think of what you could do and how more relaxed your body would be to use this energy in a better way.
A recent client had dropped out of college because she could not face the crowds everyday. Now after only two sessions she is already making plans for 2011 entry to college. You give power to other people’s opinions by accepting them as the truth. Stop it now and see things for how they are and accept yourself. That is the first step, acknowledging whether these words you attach to what you think people think of you “idiot”, “weird”, “foolish” are your words about yourself and in the special relaxation that is hypnosis, we challenge these words and you know, clients find they are these words at all and yet have based their adult lives thinking this is the reality.
