One of the most terrifying experiences must be of panic. You feel as though you are losing control and you have nothing to take this away and feel very vulnerable. Anxiety symptoms will occur to varying degrees in different people – palpitations, throat dryness, feeling as though time has stopped, not feeling quite “all there”, thoughts racing, blushing etc. The good news is that hypnosis can help to control all of these symptoms and immediately you have a tool to help reduce the intensity of the symptoms. I cannot say it is a cure as there is alot of work to be done by you. Even though these episodes last only a few seconds in real time – there will always be a sequence of steps leading to a fullblown anxiety attack (or whatever that point is for you). So what we do is identify the first point where the anxiety begins and interrupt it so that it does not develop any further. Along with this, you are learning to identify ways to reverse whatever symptom your anxiety begins with. What could be better than that – learning that you have control to reverse and reduce your symptoms.
