Now that Halloween is over, our thoughts turn to Christmas.  The change in the hour last week-end means darker nights earlier.  How does this make you feel?  Is this a stressful and anxious time for you?

Being Superwoman!

How stressed are you?  Are you an outside the home worker, arranging childcare, being the best you can be at work, coming home, making dinner, spending some time with your children, spending time with your partner - where’s the time for you in this picture.

It’s like you are a juggler - trying to balance everything.  Putting yourself under pressure (your own brand of excellence) - trying to be all things to everyone.  You can’t be all things to everyone - I can attest to that.  If you try, you will suffer.

Do you find that you operate at a certain heightened state of anxiety all the time and find that holidays time you just drop down?  Maybe it is time to take stock.

Inner Turmoil!

What hold has anxiety, panic, blushing etc got on you?  Do you dream of a day when you can control these symptoms rather than them controlling you?  Do you dread breaktime at work or even avoid going for interviews - even though you are capable of the promotion or change?  Take a moment to think about what your life would be like if you didn’t feel anxious, panic or blush.  What would it be like?

Remember anxiety and excitement have the same root - they just go in different directions.   What difference would it make to you and your life if you were free from those symptoms?

With change in yourself comes change in those around you.  Remember relatives, friends etc are used to you being, for what of a better phrase, a “wall flower”.  How would they react?  Not everyone will react favourably because it doesn’t suit them.  It is important that you are aware of this fact.

Positive change is hard but worth it.  It won’t happen overnight (remember we are overcoming whatever number of years you have feeling this way) but change is occurring - for some of you the hardest part is ringing me.  Looking up the information is one thing but actually taking that step - saying “no, I am not going to feel like this anymore” is quite another and I am delighted to help.
