Build Confidence
Do you lack confidence? Do friends and colleagues think you are confident but inside you are like jelly? Most people have a friend or know someone that is always the centre of attention (not necessarily drawing attention to themselves) but someone who attracts people. People feel good around them. Let’s do a little experiment:
- Close your eyes;
- Drift out of your body in the confident person’s body;
- What does it feel like – how do you feel about the people surrounding you. Are you standing tall (definitely yes)? How are you reacting to those around you?
- Now go back into your own body bringing some of that good energy with you.
- How do you feel now? I bet it felt good, to feel confident.
How about spending a couple of minutes every day going into that other person’s body and emulating them. It can be an actor, a character, someone you know. How do they react in a crisis? How do they react in company?
It is not a case of “fake it until you make itâ€. It is about you understanding that it is your thought process that makes you confident. More work needs to be done but this is a simple way of acting and being confident. If you get into difficulty remember how would your “ideal†behave and act accordingly. You will feel a tremendous sense of power at how you can control how you stand, think and behave.Â
