Do you lack confidence? Do friends and colleagues think you are confident but inside you are like jelly? Most people have a friend or know someone that is always the centre of attention (not necessarily drawing attention to themselves) but someone who attracts people. People feel good around them. Let’s do a little experiment:
How about spending a couple of minutes every day going into that other person’s body and emulating them. It can be an actor, a character, someone you know. How do they react in a crisis? How do they react in company?
It is not a case of “fake it until you make itâ€. It is about you understanding that it is your thought process that makes you confident. More work needs to be done but this is a simple way of acting and being confident. If you get into difficulty remember how would your “ideal†behave and act accordingly. You will feel a tremendous sense of power at how you can control how you stand, think and behave.Â
What the mind can believe, the mind can achieve!
You get what you focus on. That’s the thought for this month. See what you want and believe that it can happen. It can be big or small.
For example, you want a parking space. For fun’s sake, see that parking spot (don’t allow any doubt to creep in!) and know that you are going to get it. And guess what, you’ll get it. Do this and let me know how you get on!
Can you do this for bigger things? Well, why not. The main ingredient is belief. You must really believe in what you want to achieve. You must do it for you.
A friend of mine had their house on the market for the past 10 months. Not much was happening. So I suggested that not only should she visualize her new house but see the buyers of her house enjoying it as she had done. Within 2 weeks she got an offer from someone who had not even viewed the house (but knew it from being built). Now, there’s a happy story.
Believe It! Achieve It!
